Podcast


I found a pod cast named “60-second health.” It gives us a weekly one-minute report on the latest health and medical news. I learned some new information from the pod cast, for example, obesity is a big factor for both diabetes and heart disease but regular exercise even without changing diet might be a big help.
It’s short and easy to understand, so I found it to be interesting. This pod cast is made by Katherine Harmon who is a reporter of Scientific American. Scientific American is an American science magazine which is written by researchers on the front line, so I think the information introduced in the podcast  is correct.

  1. That was a very good discovery, Erika. The magazine "Scientific American" has been around for a long time and, although it is a magazine that popularizes science--and is meant for both scientists and non-scientists--it is well respected and trusted by people. The articles are not written in a simple way though and it takes some basic understanding of science to follow them.

    So, the short podcasts about health are a good alternative way for people who don't have the time to read the magazine to get the gist of what some of the articles are saying.

Hi, Erika. i'd like to listen the podcast you found because i'm interested in your topic. i think a good point of the podcast is the shrot length. everyone may be able to use the podcast daily even if they are busy. it is helpful to increase our knowledge bit by bit daily. if the podcast is renewed everyday, i think it is good that we can make it a custom to listen it everyday during commuting. after your presentation, i noticed how importnt it is to know correct information about diet, so i will try to gather such information.

  3. Hi, Erika! I am interested in the podcast which you had found because I was attracted by the words “60 seconds”. I was surprised at the fact that if we exercise every day, we can decrease the obesity disease. We want to recommend this podcast to the people who are worried about obesity but do not have any time to think about how to lose weight and avoid serious disease like diabetes and heart disease. If they spear 1 minute to get the information about correct diet from this podcast every day, their knowledge about the obesity will increase, and they can try to lose weight. I hope that more and more people would be healthy by this podcast.
